Actually, I'm a college student, very frugal/cheap/bad at spending money, huge movie and television fan and interested in style. I'm not shy about asking to take stranger's pictures because I like their style and I don't let other people's possible judgments effect my own personal style.

A few years ago our family went on a trip to Southeast Asia, including Cambodia, Bangkok and Thailand. This photo was taken (by my Dad) in Mai Sa, an area outside Chang Mai, Thailand at an umbrella making “village”.
There, the people who paint the intricate patterns on the finished umbrellas also offered their art skills to paint a design on whatever you like. I was wearing this light beige skirt, which I thought would be nice with a colorful little design.
I don’t remember if I was the one who chose the butterflies or if that’s what he decided to do, but I love it. I still have the skirt at home. I love having little things like that on your clothes or your jewelry, a souvenir that you can wear and carry around, with its own story to tell.
